Hi,
Totally agree with you on clothing for women's cycling! That's why I joined Velo Bella. They have the most stylish jersey and shorts for women that I've ever seen.
I also like Sheila Moon although I haven't tried her shorts yet. For commuter rides, I prefer Terry Skorts. I also have a pair of bloomers by My-Alibi that I wear under my capri pants. Could/have written volumnes on this topic and I think that 's why women's running skirts are so popular right now!

If I wrote what I really thought here, I'd probably be accused of being sexist! But why should women have to wear the same racing kits as the guys? Girls should be able to wear clothing that flatters them and makes guys notice. The same kind of discussion is occuring on the ski slopes. In the 60s, all the ladies wore strecth pants and there was nothing like the sight of a girl going down the mountain in those black stretch pants. Now with all the baggy ski clothing you can barely tell who is a girl and who's a guy. But just like Bogner makes stylish ski wear for women, there needs to be someone making more stylish athletic clothing for women.

I don't have much choice in my bike clothing, because I race and train in my team kit. I prefer a tight fitting race cut jersey that doesnt flap in the wind, and all my shorts are bib shorts. Sorry girls these are better than waistline shorts, but they don't work very well for girls. I ride a lot of miles, so a top notch chamois is worth every penny. I used think bike shorts should only be black, but now I like all the colors.

I often wear this one tank top that I bought at Xara in Santa Monica. It's long enough to cover your midfiff, it's blue with pretty flowers, cotton for the coolness, and cut to fit the feminine athletic figure. I was thyinking about sewing a few pockets to this shirt to make it a cycling jersey for cruising along the PCH.

If you are interested in creating better looking women's clothes you should check out what rock racing has been designing for the women's local team. I am on the team and I can honestly say it's the best looking clothes i have ever seen made for women. I believe next year Michael Ball, owner of Rock and Republic, will be making a clothing line for women next year.

The clothes in the Competitor article were by Castelli. I think they make a nice women's line and I wear their clothes most often because they are different then the norm and bright colors. As far as cycling clothing thats out there now, I like castelli the most. My goal with making my own is to do something a little more outrageous and fun. I just want to see more variety and use it to show our personalites more:-)
If people like my clothes then maybe I will start my own clothing line! And in the meantime at least I'll like them:-)

Are any of the outfits you mentioned the items you were wearing in the picture accompanying the time trialing article in Competitor Magazine?

I liked the top and shorts you were wearing in that picture. I think you should develop your own line of clothes for the active woman.
